STORYBOOK READERS THEATRE WORKSHOP: Grades 1-2

Students become more enthusiastic readers as they read and rehearse a Readers Theatre script based on a storybook. They learn basic drama skills and how to maintain focus and work as a team. The 50-minute workshop culminates with students performing the script for the classroom teacher.

Greek Myth READERS THEATRE RESIDENCY: Grade 3

Students strengthen reading fluency and learn acting skills as they read, rehearse and perform a Readers Theatre script based on a Greek myth. They learn to speak loudly, clearly and with emotional expression. The 6-hour residency culminates with a morning performance for parents.

Readers Theatre Grades 4 and 5

BULLYING PREVENTION READERS THEATRE WORKSHOP: Grade 4-5

Students gain a deeper understanding of how to prevent bullying as they read, rehearse and perform a Readers Theatre script about the topic. This 55-minute workshop, which begins with students discussing their thoughts and feelings about bullying, engages students in an active learning experience.
